Brief

The Marketing conference 2012, “Paradigm shifts in the changing Marketing Ecosystem”, would be an ideal platform for interaction between industry experts, students and academia.The discussion would comprise opinions and experiences of the esteemed panelists about change in the basic marketing assumptions in the present dynamic business scenario.

Objective of the Conference 


The conference would provide valuable knowledge to students, researchers, academia, and middle and senior level managers in the industry and organizations, about Marketing in the changing business scenario.

                             Guest Lecture by Mr. Surath Singh, LBSIM Alumnus



“The future holds many opportunities but you need to stay on your toes to grab them”  These are the words of wisdom from LBSIM Alumnus (99-01 Batch) & Senior Vice President and Head Business Development at Religare Arts Initiative Ltd, Mr. Surath Singh who took valuable time out for his Alma Mater.

The session was titled ‘Preparing for 2020’ and was not only informative, but interactive. Citing examples from his own profession, he elucidated the importance of taking positive risks in life & in business.  

He also shed light on the now nascent ‘Art Business’ in India & its potential in the near future. He stressed upon the fact that today what is needed is not just specific knowledge, but knowledge related to all spheres, along with the need to visualize where one wants to be after 5 years and subsequent focus on that goal.

Guest Lecture on Competency Mapping

Prof. K.K. Ahuja 





Prof. K.K. Ahuja delivered a very insightful lecture on competency mapping and its value in organizations today. The discussion focused on not only on the intricacies of designing a competency map, but also on the challenges in implementing competency mapping and how to overcome them. He also shed light on the usefulness of competency mapping and gave examples to help the students understand in a better way.

***Prof K.K. Ahuja is a qualified Management Professional, has done B.Sc, B.E. (Mechanical), Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management, Master of Business Administration from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University and M.S. (Industrial Relations) from Templeton College, Oxford University, U.K. besides possessing Diploma in Labour Laws from Indian Institute of Law.

Prof. Mool Chand Sharma

Today we were addressed by Prof. Mool Chand Sharma, Vice Chancellor of Haryana Central University, Professor of Law at Delhi University and ex-Director of National Law University, Bhopal.

The interaction with him was enlightening as he discussed in detail about the various facets of law in business and the importance of soft law skills for CEOs. Citing examples ranging from the TATA-CORUS deal to the Posco-Vedanta issue, he, in a short while, very beautifully articulated the relation between business and law. 

All in all, it was a very inspiring session for everyone in the audience.
